So..Now I am no longer making machines, I have a chance to enjoy things.Because I sold the XS product outright, I am no longer in the faceting machine business. This exercise is for FUN. (And it's about time.) Now I can make some things for myself. Faceting Machine...the "Golden Beauty" Tribute.
Some time ago, a person sent me an old advertisement for the "Golden Beauty" faceting machine. It was made from brass.Growing up in a house that had too many brass doorknobs and candlesticks, I do not mind polishing the stuff once in a while...So here is My Version. What FUN to machine after making eighty of these in stainless!! This is the second one I built for myself. Note the cutout near the angle clamp. I used a larger piece of brass and did away with the separate insulator for the BW Meter. The new super-stable circuitry and linearizers made the BW meter no longer needed. This current version is decorated with a pair of .500 Brass Balls at the rear in honor of Matt Dunkle, who recut a really hairy choice Kunzite some time ago. He seemed to really enjoy the joke.
Machine Bases
I like direct drive bases. For me, flopping belts belong in textile mills and farm equipment, and rubber drive wheels belong on '70's Garrard turntables.
Running at 314 RPM. Top speed is set at 1,800 RPM, and will never be used there.
