In the course of building and using the Revision X, I had wanted a few improvements, and disliked the "outrigger" on the rear side of the machine which housed the sensing potentiometer.
After many e-mails, I broke down and sold the first RevXS. The person then posted a lot of very complimentary reviews of the machine.
I had never planned to sell these, as they are reasonably difficult to make, and the materials and parts are not cheap...I have always made these machines for my own use, and always tried to improve them. Since I have never used a commercial machine, I had no idea at all whether anyone else would even like them..What do I know?
However, under some delicate pressure, and a deluge of e-mails, I will make a few for sale, not enough to impact any of the regular manufacturers, but perhaps four a year or so. Unfortunately, when I announced this, in a day, I found myself backordered through 2005. Final prices are not established, pending time and motion studies and cost analysis. This could well be like many gun companies who tried making Lugers; After a while they threw their hands up and stopped, as the Lugers were complex and difficult to assemble.
But I suppose it is different when ones starts building things "For Fun".
I used it, but with a bigger index gear, on this new, latest, and hopefully, last
New Left-Masted version being assembled! (By popular demand.)
